The fabric is stretched out over long tables and held on all sides. Each block is dipped into the dye and stamped on the fabric. The fabric is completely dried out in the sun. The traditional way is to steam the fabric before a wash.

Mostly Yes, depending on the designs. Water temperature plays an important role in washing these fabrics, It is hence recommended to wash these garments separately. Unless they are deep colors, there is not much to worry of bleeding or crocking

Cotton being a natural fibre. It therefore is soft and breathable, specially during the heat. Cotton requires a fair amount of care. The first wash is always better when it is handwashed. If you do not have the time, machine wash is ok too, but when its cold water, low spin and airdried. Avoid direct spraying of perfumes/deodarants on the fabrics
